Erosion Control

Erosive Forces transport nutrients, heavy metals, sediment, and suspended Solids from unprotected soils to water bodies, causing detrimental environmental and ecological effects. TYPAR®'s range of solutions provide erosion control solutions to temporarily and permanently trap fine particles, prevent piping, and manage water velocity to reduce erosion and manage total daily maximum loads (TMDLs) from project sites.

Geotextiles

Erosion protection structures or armor systems dissipate the hydraulic forces that cause erosion, and they preserve the sub- grade soil or fill soil behind it. Typar Geotextiles provide separation, stabilization and filtration between the subgrade soil and the rip-rap, gabions or pre-cast blocks to prevent piping and erosion of fine soil particles while allowing the free passage of water.  The thermally bonded nonwoven fabrics are more resistant to clogging and ideally suited for permanent erosion control applications because of their strength, durability, and resistance to rot, mildew, microorganisms, and chemicals.

The TYPAR GeoCell GS cellular confinement system utilizes the strength and permeability of TYPAR Geotextiles to create 3-Dimensional Stabilization. The system improves resistance to erosive forces on steep, unstable, or slopes exposed to severe hydraulic or mechanical stresses. Variable cell depths and diameters provide cost-effective options for protection up to 1:1 (45 deg) slopes.  Typar Geocells are receptive to a variety of in-situ or imported fill materials, including stone and soil, creating a finished surface to match the projects aesthetic, environmental, and performance goals.
